WordPress REST API Workshop – Part 3

Attendance for this workshop is by pre-registration only.  Registration will open shortly.

The WordPress REST API was fully integrated into WordPress core in version 4.7. There is a lot of buzz around the REST API, but just as many questions:

  • What is a REST API?
  • Why is it important?
  • When would I use it?
  • Is it secure?
  • How do I use it?
  • How can I customize it?

If you are a developer and have even one of the questions above, you will want to join us as we get hands on and explore the WordPress REST API in this 3 hour workshop.

It is entirely possible to just sit back and enjoy the ride, but our goal is for you to get your hands dirty (figuratively, not literally). In order to get the most out of this workshop, please come prepared by doing the following:

WordPress REST API Workshop – Part 1

The first hour will be more introductory content regarding the REST API, if you aren’t much of a coder and just want to know what all the fuss is about.

WordPress REST API Workshop – Part 2

During the second hour, we’ll dig into the API with PostMan and learn about authentication, CORS and JSONP.

WordPress REST API Workshop – Part 3

The last hour will be focused on utilizing the REST API in your own projects and plugins as well as customizing the REST API to fit your needs. Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of time to address your specific questions as well.

Length: 3 hours
